Humans since 1982 es un estudio de diseño fundado en 2008 por el sueco Per Emanuelsson y el alemán Bastian Bischoff, ambos nacidos en 1982. Su misión declarada es la del «interés por el interés», es decir, analizar a través de sus objetos qué es lo que mueve la curiosidad, y crear materiales que describan posibilidades de un mundo distinto mediante el despertar del interés en ellos. Si bien su obra puede ser descrita como «limpia», pues predominan el blanco y el negro, utilizando una paleta casi exclusivamente monocromática, sus temas descubren una mirada aguda y crítica de los tiempos. Surveillance chandelier y Surveillance light, por ejemplo, son lámparas hechas con cámaras de seguridad. Asimismo, el trabajo de Humans since 1982 gira en torno al tiempo y la luz, habiendo producido gran cantidad de relojes y lámparas que invitan a repensar la necesidad urgente de una medición temporal, y el significado de las lámparas funcionales.
