FANTASMAS DE LA HISTORIA

En un antiguo hotel de fines del siglo XIX habitan los fantasmas de los primeros colonos llegados a Australia, pioneros en busca de oro, o reos expulsados por el injusto sistema de clases inglés. Con esto como punto de partida estético, Breathe Architecture diseñó Captain Melville, un restaurant en Melbourne que evoca los colores, herramientas y sentimientos de quienes fundaron Australia. La materialidad y paleta de colores formada por los asentamientos, construidos con elementos que estuvieran a mano, como lienzo, metal, madera y cuero, se reproduce en un ambiente contemporáneo; predominan nuevamente, pero ahora como elecciones conscientes que reescriben la historia, dando vuelta las injusticias y sufrimientos de los colonos.
