AL RESCATE DE LA TRADICION

La mexicana Marisol Centeno es la joven diseñadora textil detrás del proyecto Bi Yuu, que rescata la larga tradición textil oaxaqueña y trabaja de manera colaborativa con los artesanos de Teotitlán del Valle, al sureste de México. En 2012 presentó su primera colección, “Bacaanda: rojo para corazón”. Un elemento clave de su trabajo radica en el respeto por la diversidad, a través del intercambio de conocimiento entre el oficio artesanal y el diseño contemporáneo. Para Centeno, este proceso es especialmente importante por la conexión que tiene con la tradición, usos y costumbres, y por la investigación y la experimentación que mezcla con su mirada personal.
Su trabajo a sido expuesto en diferentes espacios como en el Museo Franz Mayer, Museo Rufino Tamayo, El Centro Nacional de las Artes, Museo de Arte de Sinaloa, El Centro Cultural Clavijero Morelia, Michoacán, Galería Mexicana de Diseño y Zona Maco México Arte Contemporáneo.
